Where does your piece ride?
Where does your piece ride?
Sometimes I forgo a holster for an inside jacket pocket, or a handwarmer pocket during the winter months. Sometimes I'll use the tiny piece with the pocket clip. The pocket clip easily looks like a folding knife clip hooked on my jeans. When in a vehicle, I put it on the ribbed rubber floor mat outta the leather. |
IWB 2:30 to 3:00. I rarely go to the discomfort of carrying. I have a milt sparks VMII on order and I am going to place one for a del fatti some time this week. Why not? He won't deliver for at least two years!
|
IWB at 4:00 in a Milt Sparks Versamax. If not there then I rock the OC.
The wait for a Milt Sparks is two years now!?!?!?!?! Jesus, it was just 4 months when I got mine  Here: http://www.lightningarms.com/products.htm Mlt Sparks goodness, just no waiting. Costs a wee bit more than if you order from Sparks themselves tho. |
Milt Sparks wait is 20-26 weeks. Del Fatti is at eighteen months. I placed my order with him yesterday. I have to update my MS order to include a VMII for Sig 220 with rail.

I have yet to try an IWB holster that I found comfortable. I have yet to try a Milt Sparks though. I currently use a Don Hume JIT for my Glock 30 and love it!

Normally I use a good IWB holster behind my right hip.

I use one of those from time to time, especially when hunting in the east. |
I just got an STI ranger II and plan to get my CHL before too long.
I carried it around the house in my friends holster for bout 45 minutes or so and found it to be pretty comfy, so I went ahead and ordered one. its a don hume waistband clip on http://www.donhume.com/Products/Prod...m?ProductID=35 it offers a couple different places to carry, I found it to be most comfy for just in front of my hip, or just behind. I'll see how it is once I try to carry for a longer period of time and report back once I have found a normal carry position for myself |
my peace rides with Galco exclusively,
Hi-Yo-Silver. |
Ugh, I think that Galco is overpriced crap.
I've started to love synthetic holsters more and more each time I carry. Passive retention, don't get damaged by sweat, light weight. I just need to find a decent Kydex shoulder rig for the winter. |
Kydex chafes me.
|
... more than leather? Really? Wow.
Hah, take your dick out of it, son! (buys you a lace doily holster) ... Anybody ever use a thigh rig for anything other than deployed / Airsoft / apartment commando? |
I've been considering a thigh rig for daily carry around here.
I'm not leaping at it tho :( |
Ankle holster.
I don't want to bleed in the ribs if there is an accidental discharge. I also don't like wearing a coat all the time. |
You need a coat for an IWB holster? I work in an office environment with an untucked polo shirt and I have been concealing a full size 1911 + 2 mags with a Safariland model 27. The muzzle does not sweep me during holstering and unholstering.

You watch a lot of Miami Vice, don't you? |
i'm starting to get a concept for a rough-trade gay porn here. you could sweeten the pot by giving it a natural/synthetic holster subplot.
sorry, i should probably just stay out of this thread. :( |

No worries, though. I sold all 3 guns I had last summer. I still have my ankle holster and a box of bullets, but that it. |
*wags his trigger finger at Kpax*
This is your safety, son. Not a key that you can't get too fast enough when you actually need to use your concealed weapon. :) I carry a S&W 37 (J frame, 5 shot snubbie) all the time and it is the safest thing in the universe... until you put your finger on the trigger. Hahaha... the idea of somebody fumbling a key towards an ankle holster during a carjacking would be hilarious, though. Too bad that you sold your guns. They never hurt anybody. Quote:

Truth be told I only use Galco for my Kimber CDP, Even with the aluminum frame the weight seems to need a little extra support.
Otherwise I have a great old R.A.F jacket that holds any thing snugly and safely for casual concealment. The only reason I don't use the softer Kydex is that they seem to be designed for someone who is hipless and have a greater testosterone level than I do. I ain't slammin guys, women are built different,it is difficult to find the correct fit. |

Personally my piece rides to the right a little bit.
