I have used Trijicon reflex sights, Trijicon Acogs, M-68s (Aimpoints), and EOTechs.
My favorite by far is the EOTech. It is idiot proof, user transparent (ie you forget that it is there), robust, and impossible to lose (your sight picture that is). Other sights fail to some degree or another in one or more of these fields. I bought one the day I got back from the sandbox.

It's not, it's actually the worst of the sights mentioned. It suffers the same problem as the ACOG, in that it "washes out" if you are firing from a dark or shaded area at a brightly lit target.
Our first real scuff-up I was in the shade of our truck and couldn't find my reticle to save my life. I ended up firing irons. Traded my optic as soon as I was able to after that.

Well, I own both the EOTech 553 and the Aimpoint Comp M3 and I like them for different reasons. The EOTech has a lower profile and you don't have to buy separate mounts, but I acquire my shot a little faster with the Aimpoint - there's just something about that simple red dot in a round field just draws the eye I suppose. The EOTech's double reticle, on the other hand, is relatively busy but not too distracting. Aimpoint has the edge with battery life of course but the EOTech 553 isn't too bad. The Aimpoint is easier to operate with gloves.
Both are fine sights but I'm going to give my edge to the Aimpoint only for the fact that I shoot better with it. The washout of the ACOG reflex sights in daylight is awful! But I do like the chevron reticle ... still, it ain't enough for me to get an ACOG.

the lesson being ... get a red dot - either the Aimpoint or the EOTech.
Red dot - good. Reflex - bad.
