HI-SPEED MINI GUN....for paintball!
Quake comes to life! now we just need someone to make the BFG!
I am really skeptical that will work in any practical manner.
And you should be skeptical, because it won't. Paintballs do not feed fast enough, even in electrically fed hoppers, break often in current paintball markers, and don't shoot well when the barrel has paint in it. Nice project, not practical.

and the problems you would have keeping that thing aired up , its gotta have wicked shootdown, I dont think you can get a regulator that would pass enough air. |
It is by a special effects designer, so I guess he's looking at it working like a paintball gun, but being hooked up to a compressor and being static...

whats the point...i thought the whole point of a multi barrel weapon is for cooling.....
It also lets you increase the rate of fire while reducing the risk of a "runaway" caused by excessive battering and damage to internal parts and gets around the simple time-to-operate factor which limits the rate of fire for single-chamber/barrel weapons. Some guns, mostly manufactured in Russia and Germany, use revolving chambers on a single barrel; an arrangement which works in precisely the same way as the Gatling-style guns, but uses a single barrel to save weight. It doesn't have the cooling-related advantages of a multi-barrel, but since most revolving cannon are aircraft guns only intended to fire a few rounds at a time, this is mostly a moot point.
