Exploding Targets
Just ordered a box of exploding binary targets from www.tannerite.com. I understand that these suckers are louder than dynamite and can be heard from eight miles away. What sold me on them was the "woodie" comment made by Tannerite's owner, which I initially read in Small Arms Review coming back from the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. Not sure what kinds of "applications" there are for this stuff beyond the obvious. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Anyone ever used this stuff or seen it in action???

Also, is it safe to assume that tannerite can be mixed and decanted into smaller containers like those 8-oz water bottles with reusable caps? |

Tannerite is FUN SHIT. A single 1/2-lb bottle of this stuff will, when placed under a dryer:
1: Launch the motor 5-8 stories into the air. 2: Turn the sheetmetal skin inside-out. 3: Send the control-board about 50 meters downrange. 4: Launch the "drum" nearly as high as the motor, while folding it into a V shape. 5: Blast a 6-foot-wide circle free of grass and several inches of loose dirt. Be careful, and for God's sake wear your hearing protection! This stuff is LOUD, and under the wrong circumstances can be bloody dangerous. |

Nope, not a joke. Confirmed on numerous dryers, washing-machines, stoves, refigerators, and one rusted-out VW Beetle. This stuff is POWERFUL, so be careful. It is, however, -very- stable. You can drop it, kick it, hit it with hammers, light it on fire...it takes a HUGE shock to set the stuff off; centrefire rifles only. No pistol-calibre rounds and no rimfires need apply. |

Dont beleive that I have anywhere to use those, which is a shame, because they seem fun as hell. We usually use old PCs, networking equip, and the occaisonal empty pressurized cylinders that used to full of bad things
