iTunes and burning
Hi all. I stupidly buy a lot of songs from iTunes. I am happy with the quality but how can I burn these songs to CDR? I'd like to be able to share some songs with other people. I understand copy protection. I'm just wondering if there is a way. Thanks!

Make a new playlist with them in it, put in a disc, and click the button that says "burn disc".

If you want to share mp3 files, you're out of luck. iTunes doesn't letcha.
The work-around is to burn your songs to an audio CD, then rip them to mp3s from there. You end up with double compression, which isn't good for audio quality, but they'll work, and you'll be free of DRM. |
Make a new playlist with them in it, put in a disc, and click the button that says "burn disc".
Fails. |
Then do it:
Make a new playlist with them in it, click the button that says "burn disc", put in a disc |
Why do people always forget the option of making an analog copy?

you can also save the files as .wav on you computer and go from there.
record them as they play with cool edit or a similar program. there are numerous threads about recording audio from DVD onto your computer here, and the same principles apply. this is why audio DRM strategies are ultimately useless. if you can play it, you can re-save it and convert to mp3. |
There are quite a few programs out there that will strip aac files of their DMC protection. Just google it!
