internet error
I am trying to help out a friend with his computer. He has a dell, and been having problem getting on to the internet. He basically had mcaffey for anti-virus no spyware etc... I brought it to my house etc etc etc.. plugged it into my network, dhcp will not work even enabled. I set a static IP, try mapping a shared folder so i can copy over some spyware software, and it cannot map..
Basically i shared a folder on the computer, and mapped it from my pc, copied the files that way... used lavasoft, and microsoft spyware, found some crap, removed it.... I still cannot get to the internet, if i try nslookup it times out on this computer. The host file is fine, i thought some virus might have screwed around there.. The only weird thing I noticed offhand was when I try to ping I get the message: pinging 68.142.226.48 with °ÿ bytes of data: Not sure what the error is, and I normally can figure it out, any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you in advance |
I would remove ALL network and communications software.
Reboot and re-install the software. |
