Search messed up
I cant search for files in my pc anymore!
this is what i get, regardless of what i'm searching for. http://www.cox-internet.com/ashish/search.jpg this is winxp pro and the files are indexed i think. (gets the same result w/o indexing) i get this regardless of what option i choose either. what could be wrong ? |

Check out your services and make sure there aren't any that are getting stopped up. Indexing service may be one to look at. Check your event log too and it should show whether or not you have a service hanging up. Not to insult your intelligence, but just in case:
Right Click My Computer-> Manage. Good place to start. Hope I helped. :) |
I second the Index Service. I recall something about MS Office versions contributing to the Windows search feature. If you turned off Fast Find you'd have issues.
I'm running Office XP and this is in my startup folder: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE" -b -l Try searching the MS support site (support.microsoft.com) for some clues. |
