They're both fine, but for the same price, logic would tell you to get the bigger one.

Yes, SATA > PATA.
Dewd, #2 is way better. 8meg cache rather than 2meg, 2x drive space, faster interface, better warranty even. Just check to make sure you can have a SATA drive. |

You will have SATA controllers on your motherboard. Go to the motherboard mfg's page and see what the board offers.
