blog/cms and trackback spam
I'm currently using wordpress for my site, and the recent issues with them, and the fact I'm getting deluged with trackback spams is making me look at switching systems.
I'm looking right now at drupal or mambo, but am wondering, is trackback spam an issue with the other CMS's? have any of them effectivly dealt with it yet? |
Trackback spam is something you'll deal with using any blogware.
There are Wordpress plugins that can help you deal with it. See The WP PluginDatabase for all the amazing plugins people have built for WP. Incidentally, I've noticed that with WP 1.5 my comment spam is down to nearly zero. They've done good work with comment spam. Trackback spam is yet to get worked on. |
Yes, If you are using anything lower than WordPress 1.5 you will get a lot of spam. Wordpress 1.5 has a spam-blocker built in. I have not gotten any spam after I installed Wordpress 1.5. Plus, Wordpress 1.5 has a great new theme (much better than the <1.xx) versions if you ask me!
