iPod Shuffle to iPod Mini Exchange.
Howdy all. I had a nice unexpected commision from work, so I decided to buy an iPod Shuffle 512MB. I already had a nice MP3 CD player. I liked the iPod Shuffle, but the memory size and lack of an LCD display kind of bugged me. I could have upgraded to the 1 GB Shuffle for another 50 bucks. Well, to make a long story short, I returned the Shuffle and bought a 4GB iPod Mini. The cost was $200, twice that of the 512MB Shuffle, 8 times the capacity, has a great display, etc. It's only been a few hours, but I have to tell you folks, I'm lovin' the Mini. Size is just right, storage is just right, and the controls are great. Great product, in my point of view. I kind of wanted to get the Rio Nomad, but Worst Buy was out of them.

Hey, cool. Were in the same boat. I was contemptating the shuffle, but the lack of LCD really bugged me. I just kept on thinking, was the extra 100 worth it? Then i realized, hmm, if i want to hear song 80, id have to click like 80 times, which would just be stupid, so i said screw it, go for the mini. So pretty much we went through the same thing only i didnt actually buy the shuffle. And i also had a little extra unxpected commision, wierd.

itunes works best with files that have all of their data set filled in. (Track name, band, year, genre, star rating, etc.) Once you have all of that, play around with smart playlists. I have one that picks up any song that I rate as four stars or higher. Since my music collection is too big for my iPod, I just have the iPod prefs setup to auto update to that list.
