I wanna buy a HDTV ready 27' online
 

I dont mind paying a little bit extra for quality. I have been looking around stores, and I can't tell the difference between the $499 ones, and the $300 ones. Please help me pick one out online.

did you decide to scrap the fridge and stove and buy a tv instead? lol

it's hard to tell the difference at stores like best buy because they rarely do more than plug them in when they set up the displays. i'd read lots of reviews and figure out what features you need/want and what input connections you require, then go from there.

but if you're going with a 27" (you didn't really mean 27', did you? lol)... i assume you're going to get a CRT. if i were you, i'd go with this one: http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...e=sonkv27hs420

my ex-roommate had that tv and it was damn impressive for only being 27"... i highly recommend it.

I'm still getting the fridge and stove! haha. Thanks for the reply. My cable company provides HDTV channels. WOuld I need a HDTV Ready TV, or any HDTV is fine?

If it says HD ready then you have to buy a seperate set-top box for it. If you have digital cable you most likely have a set top box that supports HDTV.

So you dont mind paying more for quality but you wont buck up and buy from a retail store where you can get help? Or isnt there a good retail store in your area?

I feel your pain man, having worked in the retail industry I know first-hand that most of the "salespeople" don't know anything more about the products than the little blurb cards in front of them tell you.

My recommendation would be to find a consumer site/online forum that specializes in just electronics and includes reviews and customer feedback, I've been burned by doing research and making a decision based on manufacturer supplied information alone.

Last but not least, having dealt with computers and electronics from a marketing and support standpoint as well as a consumer, I can tell you without hesitation that you get what you pay for. If two things have the exact same statistics yet one is cheaper, they cut corners somewhere to reduce costs, they're not going to give up their profit margin.
