				PC Dead????
First off my system configuration: WinXP Pro; AMD Athlon 2000+, 512mb ram, 80 gb HD, and MSI nforce2 K7ngl. My desktop has been under a rash of attacks lately. I've cleaned up viruses, cookies, spyware, adware, and checked my ports. Everything was fine until Norton antivirus detected a slew of viruses and deleted them. Didn't really think it was a big deal until the whole screen went blank...then the screen was gone. Literally the monitor cannot detect a video signal. So is there a fix for this. Since the video is integrated can I just add a videocard to solve the problem or is my motherboard fried. Have I been hacked? or have my efforts to protect my pc failed? Thanks in advance if you have any suggestions or answers. |

| Go Cardinals Location: St. Louis/Cincinnati | Have you tried booting with the WindowsXP Pro CD in the tray? Try and find a video card and test it with that.

| Mjollnir Incarnate Location: Lost in thought | Sounds like Norton killed the drivers for your integrated video. Pop in your XP installation CD (which you might not have since vendors like to rip you off ) and see if you can see anything. If not, your MB probably is messed. If you don't have your installation CD, find a working computer and download Knoppix. If it turns out that you have to reinstall Windows, make sure you firewall it before connecting to the internet. |
