Anyone know anything about Graphics Tablets?
 

My bro is looking for a Graphics Tablet,
He bought one at the kend but unfortunately it blows chunks & is slooooow to respond. Back to the shop it goes. Anyone have first hand experience using one? Recommendations? Any info would help.

My friend has a 17' Wacom graphics tablet that he got off e-bay for cheap(like <$200 canadian) and he swears by it. I'd much rather go with a tablet pc though; can't stand not seeing what I am writing when I am writing it!

I use a Wacom Intuos2 6x8 at work and a Wacom Intuos 9x12 at home and love them. It's a must have if you're serious about graphics apps.

Tablet PCs are nice, but one thing I was taught in my art classes was that you shouldn't be looking at the paper when you're drawing, you should be looking at your subject. That said, I'm eagerly waiting for Wacom Cintiqs to go down in price.

Whenever I hear about somebody getting a new graphics tablet, it's always a Wacom. Are their products that much superior, or is it just that there's really not that much to choose from?

There are other options, but AFAIK they tend to be cheap (price *and* quality). Wacom is just good quality. They're expensive, though...

I have a Wacom Volito entry-level tablet, and it works fine (accurate and responsive). I just don't use it too often.

ifyou aren't going for absolute best and want simple, reliable wtih great pressure sensitivity and control at a cheaper price, try an acecat accent or the like. 1/4 the price of wacom, same control and sensitivity, but afew fewer options on the tablet itself, no mouse or quick use buttons other than on the stylus itself
