if they are a new hosting site, then probably are doing this to intise people to use them.

when 1and1.com first came out i got a professional webspace account for free for 3 years

not bad.. checkout http://www.influxhost.net that's what i use...

$4/month for 2gigs online space and unlimited bandwidth + unlimited ftp access + unlimited email addresses
