Gnome start up programs, etc.
I have a fresh Redhat installation, and I cannot for the life of me find the file that is executed when I run 'startx' and go into gnome.
For other window managers in the past, I have just created a .xinitrc file and added things there, and if I deleted or renamed it, I would go into gnome -- so Redhat must check a file after it looks for .xinit and .Xauthority files. Anyway, I'm looking to either find this file, or find a way to make a .xinitrc type file but STILL go in to gnome -- in short, I want to run a few programs automatically everytime I go into GNOME with startx. Any ideas? |
Hi, I'm new to TFP... in fact this is my first post! :)
The following page is the man page for startx (Courtesy of of XFree86.org ) Hope it helps out. You could also try doing a search for startx using the locate command in a terminal: ie. locate startx Hope that helps out! |
