KDS 17SX LCD 17" Monitor - Ghosting

I recently purchased a KDS 17SX, 17", LCD, flat panel monitor. I have noticed in the short time I have had the monitor that it causes a lot of eye strain and I have been researching the fact that many flat panel monitors have the "ghosting" problem where images / letters are shadowed or hazy. My monitor appears to be shadowing enough to the point of straining my eyes. I tweaked all settings but I don't have one for sharpness, unfortunately, which would be the best setting of all to have. I also researched what I can do, through Windows XP, to make any other possible adjustments but they have not helped. I heard that the signal cable may have something to do with that - is it better to buy a more expensive one than the one the monitor came with?? The monitor is nice but the ghosting is driving me and my eyes nuts to the point where I'm thinking about returning the product and keeping my old bulky monitor for the time being. Any help is well appreciated. thanks.

Ghosting depends on the refresh rate. If it is 16ms, you should have absolutely no problem and with 25ms you should not have any. Anything >25ms you might have problems. Try making sure the resolution you have set is the default resolution for the monitor. My monitor is setup for 1280x1024 but if I set it for 1024x768, it is slightly blurry because it is not the native resolution.
