dell inspiron notebook problem.
 

The display isn't showing normal images. The screen is showing scrambled images of different blocks of color. Sometimes, the display is ok, then it begins to get grainy and be all distorted. Its even the same when i hook up a monitor to it.

Does anybody have an idea what could be wrong?

It does the same even when you attach an external monitor huh? My first instinct was going to say that the monitor's shot and you're pretty much screwed. But, maybe it's the video card. Either way, you don’t have a quick fix on your hands. Either way, you'll have to send it somewhere to get that type of problem fixed.

I have an Inspiron 2650 and it's been working pretty well for me. I dropped a pair of scissors on the keyboard, (yes the pointy end) and that was shot. Luckly, a new keyboard only cost me $15 becasue the laptop is so old and out of date dell was glad to get rid of a part for it. Lucky me.
