Gaming Laptop Pricing

My brother is interested in getting a beefy laptop gaming/3d multimedia laptop. However, i haven't really found too mnay sites which deal certain parts which he is after. Antoehr problem is that he's located in Sydney Australia, so it needs to be shipped there. Alienware and another Australian site called ITC are the only companies i've found that deal certain parts he's interested in, although i don't think ALienware ships to Australia at all? i couldn't find an Australian affiliate?

He's after:
2gb DDR2 RAM
Geforce Go 6800 256MB GFX card
pentium 4 3.2ghz hyperthreading etc
widescreen 17inch
standard DVD rom+cd/rw
80gb HD
wireless card and a 3yr warranty

the biggest issue so far is finding such a modl whcih has that graphics card or that amount of ram. I know it's gonna be very expensive, but that's what he requires.

Can someone recommend some other possible sites which will deal with this kind of setup and also which will ship to Australia. I am just trying to track down the cheapest price atm.

thanks :)

I haven't found any laptops that have 7200rpm 80gig hdds. I have a 60gig 7200rpm in my D800. If this is going to be for gaming, make sure you get a 7200rpm drive.

just to name a few.......

also, the pcsforeveryone, though I know nothing about them, have this:
* Intel Pentium 4 Processor up to 3.8GHz, with 1Mb Cache (socket 775)
* GeForce 6800Go 256Mb DDR2 16x PCI-Express Module (upgradeable video!)
* up to 4Gb PC4200 533MHz DDR2 (using 1Gb modules)
* Two physical hard drives, with RAID 0 or 1 support.
* Choice of two optical drives
* Two FireWire Ports (1394a)
* Gigabit Ethernet
* Internal TV Tuner

ZD8000

www.hpshopping.com

Everything he wants, EXCEPT the 80 - 7200, but he can get a 60gig 7200 HDD

The vid card is a Radeon X6000 PCIE 256MB card

Very nice notebook, have one in the office.

Prices out at about $3000 USD

This just a general question, but why does he want a gaming laptop? He's going to have to spend big bucks to get what he wants and it's not going to be very customizable since you can't buy parts and build a laptop. You could probably knock off $1500 if he were to build a desktop from loose parts. I assume that he travels a lot and just wants to play games. If that's the case, then go ahead. I travel as part of my job and I take my laptop everywhere but I don't want or really need a "gaming" notebook.

But again, if he's dead set on one then the above suggestions are good ones.

thanks for all the help :)
the only big problem at the moment is getting international shipping...

@Hardknock
It's not just a gaming laptop, cause he's also gonna do 3d multimedia stuff on there - modelling and animation, which is part of his work, on the run. So that's the main purpose of the work, games are secondary really. I just said gaming laptop cause it was more identifiable ;)
