iTunes Question...
Here's the situation... I'm hoping someone else is in the same boat...
I have a desktop and a laptop w/ a wireless network in my apartment. I've got several days worth of MP3's on my desktop. I've setup a network drive on the laptop and pull all MP3 files through iTunes from my desktop PC. The problem is when I add MP3 files to iTunes on my desktop, the iTunes on my laptop doesn't update. In other words, it doesn't add the files to my iTunes library. (on the laptop) Therefore, I have to go through and re-add ALL the files again... I hope this makes some sense... if not, I can try to clarify. =) Any input is appreciated! |
I don't believe they should update because you are not using the same data folder that holds your playlist. That would probably be on the local labtop drive. I'm not sure what you can do about it except adding the things to iTunes manually.

you can also share your music on iTunes. so you can turn on the sharing, store all the music on your desktop and access the music from itunes on the laptop.

What I do is I store all MP3s on my desktop, in iTunes. I use iTunes Sharing to access them from my powerbook when I'm in the house. Every week I take the iTunes folder from the desktop and copy it over to the powerbook, so they have the exact samy iTunes folder, and therefore the same MP3s in both.
Then, when I rip new CDs on my laptop, I sync back the other way. That was every week they both have the same MP3s, I just copy from the one with the larger library to the smaller. |
