How can i do this? i inherited a Dell but no manuals to find out what the socket size is.

If you inherited a Dell, it's the easiest thing in the world. Every Dell has a tag on it with a system number. Go to Dell.com and go to the page where you can find parts for your Dell (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/d...n&s=dhs&~ck=mn) and enter your service tag number and - TaDa, it'll give the model and links to other things like specs and manuals.
