CD-R Ripping via XBox?
We wanted to rip a music CD-R to the Xbox' hard drive to listen to some phat tunes while playing Burnout 3. It won't read! Is this a known issue with Xbox's? Does the "Thompson" drive or something like that have anything to do with it? I was wondering if there was a way to get your music onto your Xbox via CD-Rs at all. The music I am copying onto the Xbox is perfectly legal, by the way.
If Xbox's won't read CD-Rs at all, can I hook the hard drive up to my PC and copy the songs over? Any suggestions? |
This probably isn't going to help much, but mine rips cd-r's just fine. Not really sure what it could be, maybe bad cd-r type?

we tried two different types, and two different x-boxes.......both refused to read either type. interesting. do the different "models" of xboxes read different media?

Haha, I was going to post this exact same thing a few days ago but figured I'd google around a bit first. The general concensus of people out there seems to be that it's kind of a hit-or-miss thing. I've tried a few different cd's and none have worked for me (TDK burner and TDK cd's, all burned at 24x with Nero) but a friend of mine has had almost all of his work fine. I'm not really into burning a bunch of music so that it won't read on the xbox, so if anyone has any other feedback.. in the meantime I'll keep searching.
