Another stupid cry for help
I've got a Dell notebook. All of a sudden, the number keys have become disabled. How do I re-enable the number keys? Thanks for any and all help.
|
Perhaps if you were a little more vague.......
but seriously, what Dell notebook do you have? When did this first happen? What were you doing before it happened? |
Let me try to guess.... number keys on the top row? number keys on the kepad in the 10 key configuration?
that said... remember to read the forum rules... http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=48134 When asking for help... We need as much information as possible to offer our best assistance. We need to know what is wrong with what, and as much general information about your system and anything you may have done to it recently (new hardware, applications, cat spilled coffee on the keyboard, etc...) OS: What version, have you patched it? Processor: Intel, AMD, Mhz, overclocked? Motherboard: what type... RAM: how much and what type. PC100, PC133, PC2100, PC2700, how many sticks. HD: size, type, partitioned Media: floppy, Zip, CDROM, CDR, DVD, etc... Browser: IE, Mozilla, Opera, what version <-- VERY important for web problems. |
I'm wearing my foil cap and was quickly able to determine that it is all microsoft's fault!
|
My guess is Cheeto dust has accumulated between your keys, rendereing them useless. ;)
|
haha cheeto dust!
maybe your num lock got disabled by default. check bios settings |
If its a number keypad on the side of the keyboard, have you checked that "numlock" is on\off?
|
I had a similar thing happen to me a section of the keys on the left side of the keyboard were disabled. Granted, I dropped an object there and the keyboard was rendered useless and I got a replacement keyboard for $15. Maybe that's it.

im guessing the 'numlock' button as well
as the culprit |
