My Documents MIA
Greetings Everyone,
I am home at my parents house and trying to use their computer. It is an old rig and it runs Windows 2000. Somehow the "My Documents" icon has disappeared from the desktop and I have been charged to see to its return. I only know XP and nothing about 2000. Does anyone know how I can return a My Documents icon back to my parents desktop? Thanks a million. |
Rigth click on the desktop and go to Properties. Under one of the Tabs there should be a Customize Desktop button. Click taht and another window will open. In this window you should be able to select which standard icons appear on the desktop. You can choose their icons here too.

phenomenon, you just explained how to get it back in XP....Mahler's Parents are running 2000.
Mahler, the only way I know you can get it back is to create a shortcut. navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents and make a shortcut to the desktop for that folder. |
Thanks a million mikec. You are absolutely correct on both accounts. The errant folder has returned and you have my (and my parents) thanks. Thanks again
