Keyboard problems..
 

My Keyboard has been having problems. Its a new computer, new keyboard,mouse,speakers, everything. I just got it this April. Just recently, everytime i want to use the ( ~ ) sign, after pressing the key, i have to press another key or spacebar for it to show. This is also the same for the ( " ) key.

I know its not such a big deal, but its really annoying to have a new system, and it being finicky like this. Ive tried fiddling with the language and other keyboard settings, but doesnt seem to do anything. I never spilt anything on the keys either. Its clean and new.

Anyone got any suggestions or advice svp? Thanks-

Can you try the same keyboard on a different computer in order to narrow down where the fault is? Also, is your keyboard USB, and is it going through a hub to your computer?

Yeah, thats a great idea. Though, I have to find another computer. Im pretty much computer illiterate...Im not sure if it is a USB thingy ....what is a hub?

A hub multiplies your USB ports. Maybe it came with an adapter to use it in PS/2 ports, so you should try that.

Is it in all programs, or just in, say Microsoft Word?

It really sounds like a software issue, not hardware. Here's a test; after typing the ~, type n. Do you get them together as a single character?
