VB/Access help
I'm as proficient with Access as one can be without knowing a lick of VB.
Can anyone help me with figuring out how, when a particular button is clicked, it pulls up a form and automatically populates one of the fields in that form. Second question, is there a way to make that "pop-up" form actually pop up in a specified area on the screen. If the question is ambiguous, I'll be more specific when/if anyone responds. |
This can be done 2 ways from what I remembe of VB and Access.
1) thru a macro (for those non vb coders) 1) start a new macro 2) set the first command to open a form (select the form you want to pop up) command is "openform" 3) set the next command to populate data "setvalue" item is going to be: [Forms]![popupformname]![textboxtopopulate] the value is whatever you want for the value. 2) in code. I'll leave this out for now unless someone asks how.. as for putting it in a particular place on the screen... I never got into doing that. I'm sure there is a way, try google. the google gods found everything for me when I needed it. |
thanks - i'm still not sure #1 is the route i'm gonna go, but i'll try your suggestion.
In the event anyone else needs the answer to #2 'DoCmd.MoveSize [right], [down], [width], [height] DoCmd.MoveSize 6000, 4000, 8800, 3800 |
Thanks for the tip Matthew330!
