Has anybody seen this computer before??
I was just searching the net and came across this computer.
It made me want one until I seen the price. This is the first I've seen this....check it out@ http://www.go-l.com/desktops/machl38/features/ :D |
I keep seeing this thing in pop-up ads, which of course makes me hate it.
|
Damn. That is one hot system.
I'd end up living in the street if I bought one, though ;-) |

That's a pretty nice computer, but it's sorta sad that a PC that costs $1,500 would beat it's ass if it had a Radeon X800 or GeForce 6800 in it. Why does a computer like that only have a 9800 Pro!?

Because they probably can't get enough X800 or 6800 Pros yet. But I do agree. At least a 9800 XT

There was a big stink over this company claiming that they had the fastest laptops in the world. They made this claim that they had machines with components that weren't available on the market. To top it off, nobody could get ahold of one to benchmark it.
Oh yeah, Techbits.com started it all off: http://www.techbits.ca/modules.php?n...&pid=20&page=1 |
Intersting claims....hmm no bench mark.

I love idea they have about putting the OS on a ramdisk. That would be amazingly fast

*From the moment I saw this thread's title I knew*
HELL, YES! - That being said, if I hadn't signed up for their contest on one of their popups and not been spammed to death [and given a fake opt-out which returns a non existant email address message] I'd actually be fawning over it. True though, that I anticipated this and gave them a least liked account. But to abuse it the way they did!! For shame. |
What's the point of drooling over fast computers these days? You know that in 6 months that computer you spent mega $$$ for will be kind of middle of the road.

That whole thing is a POS.
From this July's Maximum PC "l COMPUTERS: ONE MAN'S STORY After receiving your June issue in the mail, I was amused with your plea to readers regarding L Computers. A few months ago I saw an ad for a contest where the grand prize was a "supercomputer." After seeing the picture I was compelled to find out what it was and how I could get one. I found www.go-Iocom. After browsing the web site I was like a little kid in a candy store. Ie-mailed L Computers asking them to please put me in contact with a salesperson, as I was a serious buyer and had to have one of their systems. A couple of weeks later... still no reply. So a second e-mail was sent, reiterating that I was very interested and wanted to make a purchase, but wanted to talk about some of the hardware details with a salesperson. .. still no reply. On a brighter note, after reading about Alienware's dualvideocard ALX rig, well, let's just say that all is not lost. Think I can get one with 32 gigs of RAM ? -CHRIS WALKER " "EDITOR IN CHIEF GEORGE JONES RESPONDS: At press time, we had received just three responses to our June issue request for purchasers of L Computers' systems to share their experiences with us. We're beginning to wonder how many PCs the controversial high-end system manufacturer has actually shipped. Meanwhile, the company refuses to respond to our requests for a review system. Rest assured that as we learn more information about the subject of our January 2004 cover story, we'll pass it on." Damn....Optical character recognition program worked! GO Scanner! |
