I'm trying to find a webpage builder that will allow me to have a word file, or something similar, to update the content on the page. To clarify, lets say that a certain department of the company has a rapidly changing schedule that they want to put up on the webpage. I want to make it so that all they have to do to update the site is update the word file, then the word file's content is sent to the webpage.

does anyone know what program(s) do this, or would suggest the best method of doing this?

I would seriously consider something like phpBB or slashcode.

That will allow the department to go in and submit news articles whenever they want to and facilitate discussion of the articles.

Slashcode may be your best bet, because you can implement a calendar.

If it's purely a word document or excel page that you want to turn into a web page, simply do a "save as" in word or excel as HTML. The HTML wont be brilliant, but it should just about suffice if you aren't looking for anything fancy or anything that search engines wont turn their noses up at!

Actual Drawing is a shareware program I started using. After realizing how easy it was, I downloaded the full version. You can type or cut and paste text directly, drag in pictures, and it automatically converts and uploads to the FTP.

Personally I would try and use .NET to do all of this dynamically. From there you can create, read, update, and delete anything from a webpage, you dont have to ever touch the code again. The pros of this is that once it is up you dont have to touch it again. The major con of this is you have to have .NET installed on a machine, and also have IIS and the .NET server running on the machine as well.
