Lian Li Case Help (I feel like an idiot)

I got the 6070 Silent case, and everything's great, except I can't get the fucking sidepanels off. I feel like an idiot. Anyone have any experience with Lian Li cases or this one in particular?

Xsas 05-25-2004 05:21 PM

Nevermind, I got it off. NEEDED BRUTE FORCE TO THE MAX.

intecel 05-26-2004 05:56 AM

lmao.... Remind me not to buy a Lian Li case...

Dragonlich 05-26-2004 10:07 AM

Hey intecel, just a reminder: don't buy a Lian Li case. Seriously.

Redjake 05-26-2004 10:34 AM

oh man, Lian Li are the best cases out there! They are expensive, but it's worth it. The case was hard to whack off because it's quality. It's not these 23.99 newegg mother's day special cases. It's good quality stuff, built sturdy. I'm not surprised it was stuck on there pretty good :) Those things are battle ships.

Lasereth 05-26-2004 10:50 AM

I want a Lian-Li really bad. The one I want (Warrior) is fucking $220 though. :( They're worth it. Seeing one in real life makes it all worth it. It looks like they're freakin hand crafted.

I've got a Chieftec case. It's a good quality case (if heavy). The door is about as easy to open/remove as you can possibly imagine. Two thumbscrews, one locking mechanism: voila, one door that can be removed.

...so how exactly is Lian Li quality *because* the case was hard to get off?

I don't think he meant the technicality of taking off the case. The actual removing of the door is what he refers to, after the screws and all are off. I can't stand "loose" cases where the sides almost fall off. I imagine Lian-Li cases are nice and sturdy with the side requiring a little force to take off. Maybe I'm just weird. :) The point is, Lian-Li cases are known throughout the computing industry for being the supreme cases. That's why a simple case with a window is $220. :)

Jesus, if this is a joke about getting off, then I'm gonna admit this thread to third grade and then shoot myself.

What he said. I love my Lian-Li.

spived2 05-26-2004 01:46 PM

Lian-Li cases are great. I have the 6070 as well, and i love it. The side panels are only hard to get off the first time, after that they slide right off.

sixate 05-26-2004 02:05 PM

I don't know what the hell is going on in this thread, but I do know all I do is take out 2 thumbscrews and my side panels slide off with zero effort. Very simple. I don't know how anyone could have trouble taking the side panel off of a Lian-Li case.

I like how people who have never owned a Lian-Li case make comments about this. That's so fucking dumb.

ChrisJericho 05-26-2004 02:12 PM

Meh, Lian-Li's are overpriced and over-rated in my opinion.

redarrow 05-26-2004 02:33 PM

when you think about it, its just a hunk of aluminum and steel

so are the rest of the components in a computer.......just a hunk of silicon and metal. everything can be seen that way :)

these cases are badass whether anyone likes it or not......I'd pay the money to have one if I had a decent salary job right now. soon as I graduate I'll probably get one. everything slides together perfect, the panels always fit, and power buttons don't feel flimsy, and the panels aren't dented. peeerfect.

Cocktopus 05-27-2004 03:23 PM

the doors on th 6070 are a little snug because of the sound foam around the front bezel. the 6070 and the wave master are both excellent alu cases

Exactly. It rules, I definetly like the slideable motherboard part of it too.
