Finding your uptime

Is there an easy way to find the uptime of your system? I have been going by how long my net connection has been open, but I figure that it may not be accurate. I am using Windows XP Professional if that helps any.

Are you angling for the new record for Windows XP uptime? Perhaps you're trying to monitor a child who loves her computer a little too much, to the detriment of her daily dose of sunshine. You can find out how long your Windows XP computer has been up and running with these simple steps:

1. Open your command prompt by going to Start > Run and typing "cmd" without the quotes.
2. Type at the prompt, again without quotes, "net statistics workstation" and hit enter.
3. The first information you see will tell you how long the computer has been on.
You will need to use some math to find your uptime though. Whatever the current date/time, compared to the time your computer was turned on.

Otherwise, you may want to opt for a third party program/software, like Samurize from http://www.samurize.com

err... try this one too, just in case. I couldn't get it to work on my Win2k notebook, but heck. It might work for you.

In Windows XP that's pretty easy to find out (along with some other interesting details):

1. Select Start > Run
2. In the Open: box type cmd and press OK
3. At the command prompt type systeminfo

When Windows has gathered the data, the System Uptime can be found near the top of the report.

Thanks for the response. Turns out my ADSL/LAN connection is accurate after all. Thanks for the help anyway.
