Good image recovery program?

I lost a lot of my photos, and I was wondering if there was a good image recovery program I could use. Preferably free.

What do you mean, "lost a bunch of photos?" Are they prints that were damaged? Are you trying to recover lost data from your harddrive?

did you reformat windows, and reinstall, or were they in a separate partition that was formatted? and has data been written to the area on the HD that was formatted?

I ask because if you formatted, then wrote data over it, you can almost surely kiss it goodbye. if not, then your chances are much better.

a few programs you can try, all have demo versions..
