OS X hard drive repair tool?

I did a search and didn't find anything.

I have been getting weird behavior when accessing certain files, system freezes and HD clicks, I think there is some corruption on the HD or in the filesystem causing this, is there anything that can be done to check for it? Something like scandisk?

Try this: http://www.techtv.com/callforhelp/ma...409933,00.html

The application is called Drive 10. Boots from the CDROM, and will run checks of the hard drive. The link is to an article about the app.

If you hear the hard drive "clicking" then I would think that the problem is with the hard drive, and not with the filesystem.

Is the problem with the same file(s) all the time?

I've heard very mixed things about Drive 10. I used it origionaly with minimal results when I had problems back when I first upgraded to X. I have heard much better things about Diskwarrior, however if the HD is makeing funny noises...then the Meister may be right.

Used Drive 10 only once. It did what I wanted it too. Can't really vouch for it's overall usability or stability, though.

If you took the time and energy to purchase Applecare, then that is THE way to go. Have had nothing but good come from it.

Good luck.
