ipod
what dont you like about your ipod?
|
Nothing.
|
That i can't afford one!!
|
I dont like converting my CD's into MP3's, it just takes forever.
I guess thats not a problem withmy ipod just MP3 players in general |
It's small and shiny.
|
I can get more for less (comparably) with a Nomad Zen 60GB.
|
I love mine, the only bad thing is that the front cover is scratched all to hell and i've only had it like 3 months AND its been in a case. Oh well, its still worth it.
|
What don't I like? Hmm, very little, but:
1) The fact that the battery runs out very quickly. I now keep a charger at home, at work and in the car to prevent this from happening. 2) The newer iPod's controls (not the mini). With the four touch-sensitive buttons all in a row, it's difficult to find the right button when walking with the iPod on my belt. With the old buttons, it was a no-brainer. 3) At 30 GB, I've already filled it. :( |
Hmm.. The fact that my puppy chewed my brothers IPOD, I don't like. I guess that has little to do with the Ipod, and more to do with my puppy though. But damn, that is one expensive chew toy!

What are you using to rip your music? |

Battery doesn't last long either... ....and thats about it.... |
I used to want an I-pod, then I discovered Sony's range of Mp3-MD recorders and opted for one of them instead. I don't consider the need to change disc as drawback, in fact I quite like it because it makes me old skool and therefore better. Haha.
Actually, I can't afford one, and it tears me up inside. |
The lil hair line scratch on the display :( :P
Other than that nothing else :) |
i killed two in two weeks. theyre cute as hell but are only meant for little girls who covet them and are as caring for them as they are their little dollies. why? cuz otherwise the bastard is going to get bruised and broken...
gr. get a nomad, they last. battery is changable too. |
That I can't fit all my music on mine anymore
|
I recently picked up the Gateway knockoff of the iPod when the local Gateway store closed...got the floor demo one...has a 20gb disk in it, battery life seems pretty decent...paid $112 for it.
|
I thought the battery life was a little short. I had to keep charging it almost every evening.
Then I broke it. |
Oh god...the scratches on the screen, they're horrible, the earbuds hurt my ears and people always want to know what it is, touch it, play with it etc.
I have a love/hate relationship with it being a database driven mp3 player, sure it has great organization, but couldn't I just drop songs in a folder then have it read the id3 tags to make the database? It would be much simpler. I hate using itunes/audion/whatever to put songs on it, I'd rather just drop songs in a folder when I plug it in. I wish the lcd could be set to turn off after x minutes of playing time to save some battery life, even though I don't have any big issues with the battery life, I'd just prefer to charge it less. I find that having the backlight on, even set to turn off after 2 seconds really drains the battery quickly. Other than that I have no complaints, I love the thing! Quote:

I have a mini- I love it. it's little, shiny, pink, and I don't have very much music to put on it so I can't seem to fill up more than a third of it. I like working out with it because the controls are easy and it's lightweight.
|
Nothing... I don't own one.
But if you are also including other mp3 players... I would have to say that I am not carrying around enough mp3s on my laptop to fill it up. (All of my mp3s are on my desktop which happens to be packed up in my car at the moment) Proud owner of an iRiver iHP-120 |
they're too overpriced. i went to Fry's to maybe get one and i was like =o. honestly, i'll wait like another year to get the next-gen mp3 player.
|
it is only the battery life i don't like, I wish that there was some way to have the lcd turn off after some amount of time. also i don't like how the battery bar flucuates massive ammounts when using it so I never know how much charge is left.
|
imo, the only problem with these masterpieces of aesthetic electronics is the price.
but, good old me... i beat that... i bought mine 2nd hand in Tokyo... dirt cheap... still with great battery standard. i love it. |
I spent $350 for a 60GB Zen Xtra. Sound quality is great, I have full control of my music (drag and drop with windows explorer) and I enjoy noy looking like every other person in NYC with their white earphones. You would think it is more of a fasion statment than a music player...
|
My problem with it is I can't find it.
|
Im not a fan of the gimp battery life, maybe im used to it lating longer on walkman's or w/e but it seems really low heh
|
oo just thought of something else, once or twice my pods just froze up on me and it took like a hour to get it to do anything, it froze on the music select screen, Anyone else have this problem? tis bit irritating
|
...that I don't have one.

Let's See, my list
: It randomly freezes at times until the battery runs out : Battery life is too short Besides that I don't really have any complaints I suppose :P! |
Nothing wrong with the iPod, theyre a good little unit. However, I find the iRiver products have better functionality. I own an iRiver iHP-140, and I love it, though at the moment, I'm using it more as a portable hard drive than an MP3 player.
|
I don't like people who use it as a status item. I have a mac and use Apple products and can transfer FCP projects with it and listen to music on the way.
I don't like the ear buds and don't like remote. I also don't like people asking what it is and having to mess with it. |
J'adore mon petit iPod, toujours!
|
The ipod is better than the nomad IImg I had before. It is small and easy to use but it is expensive. The earbuds that the Ipod comes with are no good and the shell is easily scratched. Remote cord is to long for me to use and fingerprints get everywhere that it gets annoying. Case that comes with the ipod sucks also cant see the damn display.
|
my mini (3mos old) shitted out when i used the wired remote....all kinds of static
battery life battery not replaceable/swapable no radio |
I have a couple of problems with my ipod, most have probably been said before.
Theres the silver back that shows every scratch in high detail. Theres the somewhat short battery life(although i havent really run out of battery yet, i just put it in the dock every time im done using it) And finally, it seems a little fragile. |

The only thing that I don't like about it is that to work on a computer, the computer needs certain drivers. I don't think the iRiver mp3 player needs anything installed to work with a computer, making it easier to use to back something up and move it to another computer. |
i've had mine for a few months and it's still in pristine condition- as hard as i try i can't find a scratch anywhere on it, including the back!
if you think it's because i don't use it or abuse it, waaay off. you should see my cell phone for proof of my habits -_- check out the exo skins at lajo.biz, it's some startup by a guy in asia who has a really good ipod mold. i have the exo3 skin which is rediculously thin, picked up the ipod window thing too. this wraps it in a condom with like, 95% coverage (the headphone, base connector, and lock mechanism are exposed). waay better than the retail stuff you find in stores. i'm not associated with them or anything, just surprised how well it's worked in keeping my ipod in good condition. i take the skin off every 2-3 weeks and give it a quick rub down with iCleaner or iKlear wipes (use the same wipes on my laptop lcd) and rinse the skin to make sure no debris gets under there (imagine a tiny grain of pebble or soemthing rubbing against your ipod nonstop, ack). i'm ok with the battery life until i'm on an extended trip out or something, then it sucks that it's built in and you can't run to the nearest 7-11 to pick up batteries. i wouldn't reccommend it for say, traveling -_- other than that, no gripes. maybe that it's becoming too common. anyone read the reports that people are being mugged? anyone that sees the white headphones immediately knows that person's got a $300-$500 easily taken, easily re-sold device in their pocket. it's being reccommended that you don't use the white earbuds they come with and swap them right away (and i don't see why you wouldn't- they suck. why buy a ferarri only to drive 10 mph under the speed limit?) |
when i dropped it it wasn't very (cant think of that word) it was only the carpet and it diddnt work, the hard drive got all messed up.
|
No problems with my ipod just with itunes, I hate that piece of shit software and wish that the alternatives would come close to offering the same features.
|
problems with ipod? I've never had a problem with my battery life...i've never needed even 8 hours of battery...so not that...i guess the scratching thing then...that practically every case that you buy for it will scratch it anyway...i'm starting to look at iPOD cases like car Bra...why protect the paint if no one will ever see it ;)...i can't wait to get my Free 4G ipod...then maybe i'll sing a different tune

the ipod dulls pretty quickly with regular use. the skin type cases don't hide the beautiful curves of the ipod though. |
