How do I make an object float and stay visible on the side of a web page, even when the user scrolls up and down? If I wanted to make an image or small menu I've created stay visible on the left side of the page when someone scrolls, how should I set out to do it?

If you know what this is called or where I could find help, I'd be most appreciative!

Using Dhtml is the easiest method, and you can find many to take apart and learn the code from in order to play with.

Floating Menu script & Static Menu script are two good examples of what I think your asking for.
