Service Pack 2 Released - Beta?

Ok I am not exactly sure what this would be considered. I couldn't find a link anywhere on microsoft.com to download it. Except this seems to be the full SP2 and it even retrieves content from microsoft. So I am just going to assume it is the beta.

More Info:
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...threadid=40748
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...threadid=39521

Download Info:
Install is about 3mb, then it downloads at least 50mb of "files and patches".

If above doesn't work Click here to try Google.

So far it has been running for about 20 min and it's still going.

Yea, it is the beta - I used to run it for a while, but then I decided I'd rather stick with SP1 and lots of patches than a beta service pack. It's nice to play with, but you're much better off running SP1.

I remember hearing a while back that SP2 had some virus protection built in or something? Can you confirm this?

Anyway, I'll wait for an official release just to be on the safe side.

Only differences that I have noticed immediatly are the popup blocker and firewall. Seems to go with the information on the other post.

Also Half-Life is now crashing. Have to agree with Pragma, nice to check out, but really not a lot of use. Probably going to end up formatting later on tonight.

Someone verify all the DRM stuff in SP2 please. My machines are doing fine, I don't see the need for the service pack.

I didn't notice any DRM stuff in it - but I didn't look extensively for it. The major improvements are the IE stuff (popup blocking, control of what browser help objects are loaded, etc.), Outlook improvements (better control to keep safe from viruses), the Automatic Update information now coming up after your first reboot so you have to pick something, and the firewall.
