hooking a laptop display screen to a desktop computer

hi,

i have an old ibm thinkpad (laptop) and a while ago i gutted it. the screen is obviously rather small and i was looking into attaching it to a desktop computer.
i looked for such devices but was unable to find anything.
if any one has done this or something similar before and could guide me id appreciate it alot

thanx
