Bastard won't stay shut.
My DVD/CD-Rom drive tray won't stay shut. I'll push the button and it goes in, looks like it tries to read a disk then pops back out. I just formatted today, installed graphics drivers, trillian, bersirc, myielite, and now it doesn't stay shut.
What the eff? This is Win XP Home, my cd-rom is a Toshiba.

Anything obstructing it?
Since you just rebuilt it could be a driver issue, make sure you have the correct CD/CVC drivers since XP will recognize it as a CD and slap whatever it wants on it. Can you put a different CD/DVD in to see if it does the same thing? That will at lease tell you if it is a hardware or a software issue. If it's hardware, replace it. If it's software, uninstall everything you installed up to where the problem started (just myielite?) |

It likes my "learn japanese now" cd, I put it in, then took it out and closed it and it's staying shut.
That was wierd.
