Context menu has disapeard from Windows Shell [XP]
OK, so here's my problem. I can't context menu from windows explorer. Desktop. Folder views. Nothin.
Now, it's not my mouse, because I can see my beautifull context menu here in Mozilla, and it responds if I rightclick on something in the systray, or even on the toolbar. I'v ebeen searching around for a day now, and nothin. Has anyone seen this? Any advice before I go absolutely bonkers? System is XP Pro, which is actually upgraded from W2K. Thanks |

Did you format and install XP, or just upgrade it from within 2k? Upgrading can cause a lot of weird problems with XP. Try looking at Microsoft Knowledge Base, and if there is nothing about it in there try formatting and reinstalling. Other than that, I can't think of any reason why you can't get your context menu to appear.
Edit: Did you change the visual effects setting at all?

From personal experience, Windows requires a reinstall about every 6 months regardless of which version you use. XP is definitely more stable, but things like this always seem to find a way to show up. Since its running XP you may be able to do a repair installation, which will preserve your settings and data, but may correct your problem.
When did you first notice this problem? Had you made any major changes prior to noticing it? Veritas en Lux! Jimmy The Hutt
