Just curious, did you create a backup entry in your boot.ini first?

its called BootXP - do a search on google and it will come up with something. It even puts a backup line on your boot list so you can switch back to default if it borks again.

Heh borked.

Sorry we couldn't be more help jam, but perhaps you should invest in a cd-rom drive for that thing

BootXP or StyleXP are pretty sure bets. If you decide to do this again without using a program, remember to make a backup entry in your boot.ini that has your original boot loader.

An the other hand you can think to youself... Do I REALLY need to change my boot screen since it's not an easy-to-change option in the OS?

I start thinking about things to do with my system then I realize, what sort of pain is it going to cause me? However, my broken system paranoia has me making image backups every few software installs.

Anyway, it's nice to start with a fresh copy of XP, no?

I can understand that. StyleXP is coming out with, or has come out with, version 2.0 with more features.

I get my themes from their web site. Most are pleasing on the eye, with good contrast. Subtle is the word.
