How to move iPhoto libraries

Hey folks,

Ok, I finally bought Panther, despite my disdain for brushed metal, and so far I am not totally sickened by it. It feels much faster than Jaguar and has even more eye candy, and here I thought it would be impossible to stuff more in.

Problem. I backed up my user directory, including my iphoto stuffs.. I attempted to just.. copy it over to the new install and no luck.

Anyone done this before?

I think you just have to hit 'import' under 'file' and then choose the old folder or one of the subfolders with your photos.

woodhead.. man, that simple?

I spend too much time in windows. I wouldn't have thought it would be that simple.

So did it work?

This should give you the info you need.

I'll save you some time.

Quit iPhoto
Move folder to where you want it
Launch iPhoto
It will whine, so you say "it's over here now stupid"
