Okay, how about free-ish, easy-ish and not crappy.

I use thunderbird these days for my newgroup needs. A few months ago though, when I use to download alot off of them, I would use NewsBin Pro
|
Ok, Ok, I know this is dumb can somebody explain exactly what News Groups are and a simple way to use one? I've read it's a great resource for finding babes.
|
Its a great source for finding a lot of stuff. mostly crap and xxx ads and penis enlargement.
There are thousands of groups, many post pictures, song, videos, games, you name it, along with general discussion. for just basic browsing and reading, check your isp's info page for info on what to type in, and use outlook express of the mozilla one. If your isp filters them or you have a problem, you can pay for a newsgroup service but they usually are fee-structured per gigabyte downloaded. Thats kinda it, but im not good at explaning things. |
i have used newsbin pro for around a year now too, for a provider if your isp connection isnt suitable i would suggest usenetserver.com, great unlimted prices.
|
go to alt.binaries and the next time the titty board goes down you can go there for your free porn.
your isp has to allow them though. |
i actually use outlook express and newsbin pro together i have some support forums i frequesnt and advise on for which i use oe, then theres the files forums for which i use nb pro works out good actually can post while reading mail then head over to the nb pro and grab stuff
my isp however only allows 3 connections from my ip so i cant usually be greaabing 3 files on nb and posting with oe. |
here read this for all your newsgroup needs
|
Xnews, Newsbin Pro, and also Grabit are all really good for newsgroups.
|
OE is OK for text groups, but to my knowledge is still doesn't handle yEnc encoding (compressed).
Use the Mozilla client, or for dl'ing batches in binary groups, try bnr2. http://www.bnr2.org/ |
Xnews...xNews...XNews... Personal favorite. Used it on and off for years. New version will be released in a month or so. It handles yEnc, also.
By the way, if you have comcast on the west coast, dont be fooled by their home page. They make it look like you need to pay for service, but you don't. There IS free newsgroup (Usenet) with Comcast. |

From my porn guide: Usenet porn: Newsbin is the Ultimate Usenet Downloading Tool. It downloads, decodes, and reassembles any binary attachment including movies, music, pictures, even software. If any combination of servers or groups has a complete file, NewsBin will download it because it has the unique feature of re-assembling files across servers and groups. NewsBin is the fastest tool of its kind, no other binary newsreader can match its speed. It is the best, but it's only a trial. Other free ones are Xnews, BNR, or Grabit. Don't know anything about Usenet? http://www.faqs.org/usenet/ or http://www.slyck.com/newsgroups.html This site is an excellent guide to downloading from Usenet from the perspective of many different major newsreaders. |
