I think you're referring to the boot.ini file. You can edit it via My Computer | Properties.

Or from a command prompt you'll need to remove the system and/or hidden and/or read-only ATTRIBs on boot.ini. Edit the file to remove the lines you don't want, and re-ATTRIB the file.

Reinstall XP. It will detect other installaions and prompt you through the process. DO NOT use the first repair option. There are two. Use the second option. It will say it found the following xp installs, and ask what you want to do.

As I said before do not use the first repair offer as it will take you to the repair console, not what you want. The second option (after it looks like a fresh installation, be patient) will show the installs detected and ask what you want to do.

I'd format all drives with the XP disc, but if ya just want the operating system selection to go away when you turn your computer on, simply go to Start and then Run. Type in msconfig in the Run box, and hit enter. The System Configuration Utility should come up. Click on the BOOT.INI tab at the top, and then click on "Check All Boot Paths." If you've deleted the other Windows, that's not the best option, but clicking this box WILL remove the operating system selection that you have to do with you turn the computer on.
