Bak-up program advice
I'm looking for a good back-up program for home use ( xp home to dvd/cd writer).
I scanned recent posts but didn't see any related, sorry if this is duplicate. I would like something that will do an initial back up of critical files then only have to back up any changes to those files, as opposed to a complete system backup. The plan is to back up to a rewriteable dvd, then overwrite any changes. I would have thought xp would have a program for this but I haven't found any, and I only got basic software with with my sony vaio with dvd writer. Any advice or recomendations would be appreciated. |
Norton Ghost? (just a guess..)

if you overwrite the old stuff with the new stuff, you might as well just write it from scratch each time and use CDR's, most backups are incremental and store multi session with just the changes. that way you can go back to any moment in time.
but your post seems to say both methods, incremental and overwrite, nearly all backup software does incremental backups, the other is just a mirror. |

Using XP, Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Backup.
If you're using a DVD-R/RW and have Nero 6, the Nero backup app is nice. |
