How clean is your comp?
until recently i thought my system was fairly clean of spyware. i run Ad-aware and spybot S&D about once a week and have a decent firewall. figured i was fine. then someone pointed me to Spywareblaster.
i installed and ran it and found over 500 pieces of spyware and 7 trojans. this program claims to prevent new spyware from being installed and also gives details on the type of spyware and how its getting into the system. those of you who are depending on AD-Aware and Spybot to keep things clean may want to check this out. *one message of caution though. some freeware that comes bundled with spyware mare not work if you remove the spyware portion of the program. just read the info on the spywareblaster site. I dunno if this is the issue, but the 500+ list could be the list of the spyware that it is protecting your system from....not 500+ that is ON your computer.

i'm just that dumb. sorry.

Just curious... do you work for javacoolsoftware.com? Only checking... :)

some direct quotes from the page you linked to, split lickety:
"SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed." "Detects changes and additions - and alerts of both on a restore operation Provides a list of changed/added items - so the user has full control over what will be restored" that list of 500+ is in fact what you are being protected from, not whats on your comp. |
