Mozilla Firebird Question
I have downloaded Mozilla Firebird and I would like to use it as my browser but it didn't install on my system. Everytime I want to use it I have click on the .exe program (from the zip file) to run it. Is that how Mozilla works? How do I get a Mozilla icon on my desktop to run it that way? Just wondering. Thanks

Firebird does not have an installer program yet. Simply place the Mozilla directory in your Program Files directory (or wherever you install programs to) and then right click on your desktop and select new-->shortcut. Follow the on-screen instructions and you should be all set :)
By the way, Mozilla 1.5 (the suite) does have an installer and eventually Firebird will have one too. Right now they're just focusing on making Firebird a better BROWSER than on making an installer for it. |
firebird is also available with an installer now

I personally love the fact that there's no installer. I wish more software would work the same way.

flamingpeach,
I guess I inadvertingly downloaded the version you linked first. But it still won't install. I still have to click on the .exe icon to run to run the browser. Is there another download which I can install? SecretMethod70, does the Mozilla suite come with Firebird? Thanks for everybody's help. It it always much appreciated. Thanks |

Please ignore my previous post as I am a blind and sightless moron for not seeing what I actually downloaded. I downloaded, as flamingpeach indicated, the an installable version. Firebird is up and running with no problems. Thanks everyone

Firebird is a great browser, and once you get it set up the way you want it, i'm sure you'll love it. :) |
