Help me please... USB Port drivers missing.

I am in trauma... I had to have my system wiped clean and start fresh a few months back (Damn teenagers!)...

When my computer was returned there was a problem... My USB port drivers were missing. The disc to accompany my computer for my mother board never came with my machine (damn campus computer stores).

Now... I know I am going to get a few questions... Yes I have tried finding downloads for my intel board... Thus far I have yet to find one which will work.

My intel board modle number is D845WN. I operate with Win 2000 Pro.

HELP ME... Please...

those are drivers for that motherboard including the USB drivers

in particular this one, you must follow the instructions given by intel to update drivers in windows 200 properly, otherwise it may not do the install correctly

The USB ports are there... Detected... Etc.

The drivers come up with the yellow.

Try using my printer, etc... The drivers don't exist.

if you install those inf files i listed, tkae a note of the directory they go into

double click the yellow ! usb line, go to update driver
click install from a list or specific driver (2nd option)
then next
then dont search i will choose
next
have disk
then point it to the place where the drivers were extracted
it should then find the intel drivers, if it warns you about a mismatch, install anyway and reboot

you can also get it to search by choosing search, instead of i will choose, if that doesnt work see what it comes up with

Insane

I know my printer, although connecting via USB requires me to install additional drivers for my specific printer.

Perhaps the USB drivers are alright, but the printer just isn't installed.

Check the website of the manufacturer of the printer, and download the drivers from there.

The following things require a USB port...

My Printer

My webcam

Certain digital cameras...

No sandeep. My USB port drivers do not exist.

Good thing I am an Ethernet owner eh.

charlie... I did as I was told... I even pulled the location and hand typed it out. It doesn't do it. I ignored the warnings... Lost a couple things which wouldn't bother me a fig if I could get this damn thing working.

This is probably where I kindly point out that I have been trying to fix this for over 3 months and have been inlisting the help of techies everywhere. Charlie it is the impossible problem. TY for trying though.

Go to hardware manager and delete the USB drives. Yes, delete them. Then reboot. If the wrong drivers were installed early during your quest, there is a chance Windows will automatically install the right ones.

perhaps youve got a hardware fault or a device conflict, what does the text next to the yellow ! say exactly ?
