Out Of Range Problem?
Hey, I got this real annoying problem, whenever I start my computer sometimes after Windows XP does it's loading screen my moniter goes black and says Out of Range, yet from my speakers I can hear the music intro to Windows and AIM and Windows Messenger so I think it's my moniter or my video card. Does anyone have this problem or has a solution?
Thanks BTW, it only happens sometimes, there are times where I can start my computer and it'll go to Windows with no problem but sometimes I might have to restart my computer 4-5 times to get into Windows without that annoying message SPECS: Windows XP Proffession 2.4 ghz Pent 4 784 PC100 RAM Radeon 9700 Pro |
It means that the video card is putting out a resolution the monitor doesn't understand.
Try reconfiguring your display to something you like, save the settings, and see if it fixes the problem. |
What exactly do yah mean by that? Do you mean like changing the resolution (which is at 1024x768) or changing the moniter refresh rate (which is at 75) or the video card settings

NastyMan- it could be either of those. Find out what your Monitor can support. You may be trying to use a refresh rate your monitor does not support. Most manufacturers detail the refresh rates and max resolutions that their monitors support. See if you are trying to use one that your monitor might have trouble with.

Also check monitor connection...
devnull / oberon are right it seems like your monitor doesn't understand your videocard... Faulty connections (monitor-pc or vidcard-pc) can be the cause, but a faulty driver might also cause it... Or, of course: broken hardware... But try the other options first... |
