Laptop Screen Replacement
 

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this question, but I'm hoping that someone can tell me different.
I've got a Dell Inspiron 8200 series with a cracked LCD, the screen looks like a sunburst :(
Are there any companies out there that sell replacement screens which would fit besides dell? I know that most laptops are made by the same manufacturer and slapped with a brand name, so theoretically there should be some that match. But I've never run across any sites that sell them. I'm tight on money so I wanted to shop around as much as possible.

Any ideas? :confused:

I found no less than 15 for between $100 and $300 to be exact.

You can always just plug a regular monitor into the back of the laptop. It's cheap, but not very portable.

One of my friends used to work for a company that sold replacement screens.....I remember him telling me all you need is one of the same size and has the same connectors on it and they will work.

they have lots of parts for DELL, COMPAQ, IBM, TOSHIBA....

I buy my parts from there because they have good prices and warranties.

IMHO most of the time it's not worth repairing a cracked LCD but just replacing the whole unit.
