Tracing Windows Messenger spam?
OK... Is there any way to find out what IP is sending Windows Messenger spams? Someone in my dorm building is spamming his website with them, and Im about ready to report him to the IT folks. I disabled Windows Messenger (again, I just reformatted), but I want to find out who sent it. Can anyone help? Thanks...

Use a software firewall like kerio or zonealarm and find out you should get a popup asking for permission when it comes in, and it'll say the ip. or put logging on for the messenger port.

Whenever it comes to finding out what's happening on the network I use Ethereal.
I use it at work a lot. Really kick-ass piece of software. (and of course it's free...) |
best thing to do is to message your whole subnet with instruction on shutting down messanger server.
