my media player isn't working
windows media player doesn't play divx on my computer anymore... well it plays the movie just not the sound but when i play in in the divx player 2.5 it works... anyone able to help me with this
|
You need the correct codecs for it to work. I can't tell you which one, but I gaurantee it's a codec issue. DivX is made to play certain types of movies, and WMP can play some of those as well if they're encoding correctly. Sounds like the movie you're trying to watch isn't encoded with the correct sound "style" for WMP.

its not just divx formatted movies! its all movies... mpg avi divx xvid.... do you know anything about ac3? i think that might be a problem

It's almost gaurenteed to be that you're lacking the AC3 filters for wmp. Google for AC3 Audio and you'll find plenty of what you're looking for. this is one of the first sites that google spits out.
see if this is any help. not all divx are encoded with ac3 audio, so most would be able to play with any mp3 codecs, but the ones that require ac3 will react like yours are. http://www.divx-ac3.com/ac3_filter/ good luck. |
Make sure you have latest divx codec
and get ac3 filter as mentioned. |
