I/O Magic CDRW
just wanted to let everyone know not to buy an I/O magic cd burner. had it for 3 months and its toast. only burned about 300 cd's with it. tried cleaning the lens and nothing.
*edit* can anyone suggest a good brand? |
i say sony. one of my friends had one of these and it's been pretty reliable.
i have this pacific digital one 52x and it seems to have gone out already. i prolly burned about 75 cd's with this and i'm extremely disappointed. the tech support answers my first email, but stops replying after i go more in depth into the problem. pathetic tech support and pathetic product. DO NOT BUY PACIFIC DIGITAL. |
I have a samsung i like....

I have a 40X Lite-on. Never had so much as a hiccup. There has been 2 or 3 coasters, but it's in my P3 500, so it could have easily been software related. I think I paid around $75, 2 or so years ago, a great deal even now.

Plextor Drives are what we use in the studio. They've worked great so far.
|
I have several Plextors and a Lite-On 52-24-52 - I'd have to say that this Lite-On is the best burner I've ever had (don't get me wrong, I love my Plextor drives.) The price is incredibly low for such a great product. You can get it from Newegg for around $42.

thanks for all the suggestions. i've heard good things about plextors and its nice to see people here agree. never heard of the lite-on's though. will check em out.

I have a CyberDrive. Decent drive, their real claim to fame is their ability to read scratched discs that other drives cant.
|
I have a TDK that I like quite a bit.
Also heard good things about Lite-on. However, I've always considered Plexstor to be the best of the best. |
